Young People’s Meeting: Chelsea Reeves
Chelsea Reeves is the Founder of Soulshine. When asked what Soulshine is, Chelsea states, “I look at it as a way of life. I’m simply a messenger, here to remind other women, similar to me, of how worthy and magnetic we all are. We have something so special and powerful to offer the world – we get to let our souls shine!”.
Chelsea grew up in a small town in East Texas. At age 19, she was on the verge of losing her life to her destructive coping behaviors. After multiple hospital visits, difficulties with law enforcement, and having to withdraw from Texas A&M University, Chelsea found recovery. She moved to Southern California and by the age of 20 became actively involved in the recovery community. She began her career at the reputable treatment facility, Safe Harbor followed by Newport Academy.
After losing multiple friends to overdoses, Chelsea believes, “Something in my heart told me this is what I was supposed to do with my life, this was my purpose.”
She decided to further her education in order to apply more than just her personal experiences, when working with others. Chelsea went on to Intercoast College where she became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and completed her degree in Communication Studies at California State University Long Beach. She is a Certified Empowerment Coach, Fire Walk Instructor, Glass Walk Instructor, Certified Arise Interventionist and Certified Food Addictions Coach.
Before finding a lifestyle of nurturing and tending to her authentic soul, Chelsea had difficulty honoring her emotions and asking for help. She became consumed with pleasing others – using people as a source of validation and comfort. She was completely driven by success and the need for perfection and instant gratification. After almost losing her life to destructive coping behaviors, her world quickly came to a screeching halt. Every aspect of Chelea’s life she considered valuable was stripped from her. She was inches away from permanently losing her family, close friends, career, self-respect and dignity.
Through her own journey and practices that she’s found helpful and healing, SOULSHINE was born. Learning to nurture and tend to her authentic soul gradually became Chelea’s own mosaic masterpiece. She found that owning her story, and giving herself the permission to be vulnerable gave her the opportunity to develop self-love and self-worth – something she never dreamed was possible.
SOULSHINE is intended to help create and maintain your own mosaic masterpiece of gaining self-love and worth.
