Dr. Polacheck is a nationally recognized expert on mental health and substance use disorder issues. He has been featured on NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and FOX to name a few. He is a gifted clinician and highly respected in the therapeutic community. Matt recently ended his tenure with the Betty Ford Center’s Outpatient Services as its Director to expand and dedicate more time to his work with young people and their families. A dedicated professional with a thirst for research and the recovery of the family system.
Matthew has had numerous leadership roles during his 15 years as a clinician; most recently, the Director of Mental Health for the Center for Discovery. Dr. Polacheck has also served in the role of program director for several adolescent residential facilities. His ability to reach youth in and of diverse populations can be described best as a gift.
Dr. Polacheck has taught several graduate-level courses on the treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues. His published research ranges from adolescent ADHD to and medication titration. Matthew has a thirst for providing viable tools for wellness to occur and lives to flourish. We are honored to have Dr. Polacheck on The ONE Board. Honored.
Dr. Polacheck earned a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy. D.) from The Wright Institute, and he holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona. He is also a certified trauma therapist and substance abuse counselor.
